PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY:
ACADEMIC PLASTIC SURGEON - HAND AND WRIST SURGERY SPECIALIZATION

OPPORTUNITY: The Division of Plastic Surgery, Trillium Health Partners (THP), invites applications for an academic Plastic Surgeon specializing in Hand and Wrist Surgery. The application process will remain open until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is April 2020.
The successful applicant's practice will focus on hand and wrist surgery, 90% of surgical time dedicated to upper extremity surgery, supporting the delivery of unplanned care, contributing to medical education and clinical research. The successful candidate will care for surgical inpatients and outpatients and participate in the on-call rotation supporting Trillium Health Partners and surrounding Hospitals.
This individual will take part in the undergraduate and post-graduate surgery curricula at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will be appointed to an academic position within the Department of Surgery, University of Toronto. The position will be recruited at a level dependent upon the qualifications of the successful candidate.
LOCATION: The successful applicant will be based primarily at the Queensway site of Trillium Health Partners (THP). For details about the hospital, visit TrilliumHealthPartners.ca
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent with completed training in Plastic Surgery and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This individual must have obtained the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Fellowship in Plastic Surgery or equivalent and have undergone recognized Fellowship training in Hand and Wrist Surgery.
REMUNERATION: Remuneration will be on a fee-for-service basis through billings submitted by the physician to Ontario Health Insurance Plan. There is also the opportunity to join the Worker Safety Insurance Board hand program and offer WSIB expedited surgery.

BACKGROUND
The official name of the Society is the Canadian Society for Surgery of the Hand or CSSH although some members may remember CSSH as MANUS. The Society is a corporation acting as a non-profit organization with specific objects as seen above.
